Weekly Photo Challenge. Unusual

This is just a tree, but it was unusual enough for me to park my car, get out and take a photo of it, so I figured, why not share? Certainly the tree has stood the test of time and deserves some respect.

Poor top heavy tree, I wonder how it carries its load?

  2. Unusual and most interesting…what stories it holds and could tell if we could only hear them. Great shot! hugs

  3. I know this old tree has been around awhile. It looks like at some point it was cut back severely for whatever reason, and refused to die. I’ve never seen another tree like it. I am glad you dropped by to check it out. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Gerry, I literally turned the car around and went back to snap off a photo of that tree. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s like it’s roots were pushed to the sky. Thanks for commenting, and of course the visit, too! πŸ˜‰

    • Thank you Andrea. I was just such a strange tree, I had to capture the moment. And now it is time to share. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Arindam. I have yet to figure out why this tree had such a cluster of branches in one place, so high. It much have faced severe damage in its youth. Yet, it survived to tower high. To me, the tree is almost saying “Stand strong, and prevail”. Anyway, thank you for your visit. It is always a please to have you aboard! πŸ™‚ Marcy

    • I have looked around for a similar tree, ever since I saw this one. I have never seen another one so thick in one spot above the main trunk. I think this tree was severely damaged in its youth, then grew back on a single trunk. Maybe not? It is a mystery to me. That’s probably why you and I both like this grand old tree. I’m glad you had a chance to check it out.
