Sunday Photo Challenge . Stairs

Circling back to a prototype page from my first book “How Orples Came To Be“, these I hope will one day be ‘famous’ stairs.  I’ve edited the page shown here, and fixed a mistake or two in my text (I’m sure you’ll see what I’m talking about if you read the page).  I altered the font before having the book printed for sale, but basically, the jest here, and in the actual book are the same. The illustration really hasn’t changed at all.

The stair leading from the basement (lab) to the kitchen in the Zimp household.

    • Thank you Vivian. I try to keep the orples friendly, and encouraging for kids. They have manners, and Olivia is very smart, and a go-getter. Oscar is a little lazy, clumsy, and not the brightest crayon in the box, but he is a sweet little fellow. Thank you for the kudos and your encouragement. 🙂 It is greatly appreciated. Thanks too, for stopping by for a visit. If you want to see more you can check out the ‘orples overview’ category on my sidebar. 🙂

      • Oh Marcy…your wonderful Orples book came yesterday!!!! I absolutely LOVE the way you have it packed…using pages of your new book as the envelope is so creative!
My husband looked at the back of the notecard before I read the inside of it…and noticed the artist’s name…so when you told me it was your sister and that she is a prominent artist in VA, I was not surprised.
Thank you for sharing “The Orples Make a Tree Home” with me…I would love to review it on my blog…may I?

        • I would love it if you wrote a review on my book, Vivian. I am trying to get the word out, as you may have guessed, so the more people that see my work, the more apt my orples are to catch on with the kids. I’m curious to hear others opinions as well. So by all means, “YES”. If you really like my book, I’d love it if you’d leave a remark on Amazon’s site as well, with whatever star count you feel appropriate, relative to other children’s literature you’ve no doubt read. This was really meant to be a thank you for the beautiful book that you sent to me, though, so there are no strings attached. 🙂 I hope your enjoy Olivia and Oscar’s first adventure/project as ‘free’ orples. Thanks too, for letting me know you did get the book. The reason I wrapped it as I did is because I’m overly conservative…waste not, want not. Those ‘wrapping’ pages are prototype pages that would have become scribble paper for the kids, I suspect. The pages in the actual book have been changed a bit from what you see there. Either way, they are a preview of book 3. Enjoy! 😉 Marcy

    • Olivia, is very brave, smart, and loyal, Sonel. She warned Oscar, but he didn’t listen, so now Olivia has nothing left to do, but to save him. It only goes to show, it’s nice to have friends that care. 😉 Thanks for stopping by to say hello and of course joining in the conversation. 🙂

    • Thank you, Jake. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to promote my little orple pals… this is the first ‘staircase’ I thought of when I saw your challenge for the week. 🙂 Thank you for the theme, and thanks too for visiting. 🙂

    • Thank you Ledia. My first book was very fast paced with lots of action. I’ve had a lot of great feedback on it. Thank you for your encouragement (and your visit). As always, both are greatly appreciated.

    • LOL, thank you Colline. I’m glad you liked this entry. There were a few errors, that have been fixed, but this is only the prototype, so all is good. Thanks for dropping by and commenting, too.
