Oscar just loves water. Cold water, hot water, bath water, it doesn’t matter. Izzy said,’waterfall’, and Oscar asked, ‘where?’. So here we go, off to visit Isadora’s blog It really is a lovely waterfall, I think on that we can agree.
Oscar getting ready to dive right on in.
While the orples are swimming, we may has well visit the neighbors and see what else Olivia and Oscar have been up to. 🙂
The orples wanted to visit Sophia since it has been awhile since we have seen her. It appears she is on break. Bummer. Even Sonel’s little monkeys miss her while she is away. We’ll visit them, keeping them company, until Sophia returns to her little corner of the world and picks up where she left off.
Olivia and Oscar visiting Sonel’s monkeys in Africa.
While the Orples are in Africa, the rest of us can peruse the neighborhoodand check out their other activities of the recent past. 🙂
Rommel doesn’t need to be in a Sophomore Slumpanymore. He has decided to come out and play with the orples. We are going to visit him in California where he has put together a crackerjack post from his neck of the woods.
The orples are visiting Rommel in California
While the orples are exploring Rommel’s blog, feel free to visit the neighborhood and see what our other neighbors are up to. If you’d like to join us, please just drop me a comment, and let me know. Feel free to peruse my previous posts to see what the deal is. 🙂
I just knew the minute the orples saw Colline’s blog and that parade she went to, they would want to go to Canada to play. Let’s go see what’s happening in Colline’s neck of the woods.
The orples join the parade in Canada to celebrate the upcoming holidays.
Afterwards, we’ll go check out the neighborhood to see what the rest of the gang is up to. If you want to join our neighborhood, let me know via comment. I’ll add your name to my list. If you are unsure as to what we’re talking about, feel free to read through past posts to find out what’s going on with the orples and our fellow bloggers. 🙂
The orples in the Philippines saying a prayer for those facing Typhoon Hagupit.
The orples are praying that everyone who is in the Philippines will be okay after the storms pass. In the meantime, they have invited us to go visit the neighbors to see what the gang is up to in Orpleland. 🙂
The daily post submitted a challenge entitled ‘Gone, but not forgotten. I immediately thought of my oldest brother. So today, The Orples and I are paying tribute to my big brother, Chuck, may he RIP. Although he died in 2005, he will always be in my heart, especially at Christmas. There were 21 years age difference in the two of us. He was the oldest child, I was the youngest, and there were five more siblings sandwiched in between us. In spite of our age difference, the two of us were extremely close as adults, although as a child, I barely knew him, since he was grown and gone by the time I was born.
My oldest brother, Chuck, and me. Christmas 2004. Our last Christmas together.
This was the last photo of the two of us, taken Christmas, 2004. Chuck did not live to see Christmas 2005. So with teary eyes, I pay tribute to my big brother who may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
Today, Oscar and Olivia are planning their day around Madhu’s schedule, gazing out from one of the salvaged balconies in Lima. Madhu does get the Urge to Wander. If you go to her place, Madhu has taken some beautiful photographs to accompany a wonderful article she has written about Lima’s historical wooden balconies. These beauties have only survived because a hand full of people cared enough to try to save them from demolition.
The Orples are looking out into the street below from inside one of Lima’s enclosed balconies.
While the orples are trying to decide where to start for the day, the rest of us can visit the neighborhood. If you care to join us. Feel free to peruse our previous posts and find out what is going on. All are welcome to be added to my list of participants in the Orple’s Adventures.
I was looking for something else entirely, and got sidetracked looking through old photos of Magi. Imagine that. One look, and the orples were ready to go horseback riding with my grandson, Jacob, who was about five in this photo. Magi doesn’t appear to be real happy about toting three riders at once, but I guess he figures if Jacob can get his head up, he’ll cooperate. Anyone who hasn’t yet met Magi is welcome to reminisce the past with me in Photos of Days Gone By.
Kick’m in the sides and yell, ‘gitty up’. I’m sure he’ll go then. 🙂
If you’d like to join the neighborhood please let me know. Basically, I pull a screen shot from YOUR blog, invite the orples along, then relink back to you, giving you credit for your work, and introducing new people to your blog. In return, I love it when you re-blog or ping-back, giving me a little recognition, too, on your stomping grounds. Olivia really would love to be famous one day, you know. 🙂 For more information, and a potential spot in a projected coffee-table book (with credit given per your specifications on any shots used), feel free to peruse the articles from past posts when you visit the neighbors.
Jackie, whose blog is knitting with heart, invited us to come play with her. The orples saw snow for the first time, and just had to stop and play in it. Actually, I think Oscar is loving it. Olivia is too busy protecting her bow to really have fun. Too bad for Olivia. Sometimes you just gotta say to hell with vanity and let the snowballs fly.
Olivia needs to learn to lighten up and have fun.
I think we should go visit the neighborhood while Olivia and Oscar play in the white stuff. Maybe Jackie will save Olivia from Oscar. I just hope he doesn’t start picking on her, too. 🙂
What you see is what you get....... birds, animals, and all sorts of things, but remember; Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don't strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt. .
