The Orples Miss Sonel

The orples wanted to visit Sophia since it has been awhile since we have seen her.Β  It appears she is on break. Bummer. Even Sonel’s little monkeys miss her while she is away. We’ll visit them, keepingΒ  them company, until Sophia returns to her little corner of the world and picks up where she left off.

While the Orples are in Africa, the rest of us can peruse the neighborhood and check out their other activities of the recent past. πŸ™‚

The Orples Go To California

Rommel doesn’t need to be in a Sophomore Slump anymore. He has decided to come out and play with the orples. We are going to visit him in California where he has put together a crackerjack post from his neck of the woods.

While the orples are exploring Rommel’s blog, feel free to visit the neighborhood and see what our other neighbors are up to. If you’d like to join us, please just drop me a comment, and let me know. Feel free to peruse my previous posts to see what the deal is. πŸ™‚

The Orples Go To The Parade

I just knew the minute the orples saw Colline’s blog and that parade she went to, they would want to go to Canada to play. Let’s go see what’s happening in Colline’s neck of the woods.

The orples join the parade in Canada to celebrate the upcoming holidays.

Afterwards, we’ll go check out the neighborhood to see what the rest of the gang is up to. If you want to join our neighborhood, let me know via comment. I’ll add your name to my list. If you are unsure as to what we’re talking about, feel free to read through past posts to find out what’s going on with the orples and our fellow bloggers. πŸ™‚

The Orples Went To The Philippines.

Recently, Renxkyoko went to the Philippines. The orples had to tag along, being the world travelers that they are.Β  It is a good thing they went when they did because today the lovely islands are being hammered by Typoon Hagupit.

The orples are praying that everyone who is in the Philippines will be okay after the storms pass.Β  In the meantime, they have invited us to go visit the neighbors to see what the gang is up to in Orpleland. πŸ™‚

[New Post] Gone, But Not Forgotten

The daily post submitted a challenge entitled ‘Gone, but not forgotten. I immediately thought of my oldest brother. So today, The Orples and I are paying tribute to my big brother, Chuck, may he RIP. Although he died in 2005, he will always be in my heart, especially at Christmas. There were 21 years age difference in the two of us. He was the oldest child, I was the youngest, and there were five more siblings sandwiched in between us. In spite of our age difference, the two of us were extremely close as adults, although as a child, I barely knew him, since he was grown and gone by the time I was born.

This was the last photo of the two of us, taken Christmas, 2004. Chuck did not live to see Christmas 2005. So with teary eyes, I pay tribute to my big brother who may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

The Orples Talk To Trees

It truly is Another Day in Paradise as the orples take a break to swim through Sylvia’s blog.

A talking tree? Just ask the orples. They'll tell you, it is true.

A talking tree? Just ask the orples. They’ll tell you, it is true.

I suspect the orples will be talking to that wise old tree for awhile, so we may as well visit the neighbors while we’re waiting for Oscar and Olivia to finish up their conversation. πŸ™‚

The Orples Go To Lima

Today, Oscar and Olivia are planning their day around Madhu’s schedule, gazing out from one of the salvaged balconies in Lima. Madhu does get the Urge to Wander. If you go to her place, Madhu has taken some beautiful photographs to accompany a wonderful article she has written about Lima’s historical wooden balconies. These beauties have only survived because a hand full of people cared enough to try to save them from demolition.

The Orples are looking out into the street below, taking in the sights.

While the orples are trying to decide where to start for the day, the rest of us can visit the neighborhood. If you care to join us. Feel free to peruse our previous posts and find out what is going on.Β  All are welcome to be added to my list of participants in the Orple’s Adventures.

The Orples on Ice

Today we are strolling though Justin’s blog. He was evidently hanging around in some ice caves somewhere along the line. The orples had so much fun in the snow the other day, they decided to check out the ice-cycles clinging to the caves. It seems they favor the cold temperatures, but are having a little trouble standing on their twigs.

The Orples are finding out ice and snow are two different things.

While the Orples are trying to regain their footing, please feel free to cruise the neighborhood to see where else they have been. The way this ‘game’ is supposed to work is that I take a screenshot from your blog, if you let me know you want to participate. Then, I create a skit including the orples. I link back to your blog giving you credit for your work. Of course, because Olivia would really love toΒ  be famous, we love it when you reblog or pingback the post, so your followers are introduced to the orples, just as my followers are given the opportunity to meet you, if they haven’t already. Win, win, for everybody involved. πŸ™‚ Please let me know if you would like for me to add your name to my list. πŸ™‚

The Orples Go Horseback Riding

I was looking for something else entirely, and got sidetracked looking through old photos of Magi. Imagine that. One look, and the orples were ready to go horseback riding with my grandson, Jacob, who was about five in this photo. Magi doesn’t appear to be real happy about toting three riders at once, but I guess he figures if Jacob can get his head up, he’ll cooperate. Anyone who hasn’t yet met Magi is welcome to reminisce the past with me in Photos of Days Gone By.

Kick'm in the sides and yell, 'gitty up'. I'm sure he'll go then. :)

If you’d like to join the neighborhood please let me know. Basically, I pull a screen shot from YOUR blog, invite the orples along, then relink back to you, giving you credit for your work, and introducing new people to your blog. In return, I love it when you re-blog or ping-back, giving me a little recognition, too, on your stomping grounds. Olivia really would love to be famous one day, you know. πŸ™‚ For more information, and a potential spot in a projected coffee-table book (with credit given per your specifications on any shots used), feel free to peruse the articles from past posts when youΒ visit the neighbors.

The Orples First Snow

Jackie, whose blog is knitting with heart, invited us to come play with her. The orples saw snow for the first time, and just had to stop and play in it. Actually, I think Oscar is loving it. Olivia is too busy protecting her bow to really have fun. Too bad for Olivia. Sometimes you just gotta say to hell with vanity and let the snowballs fly.

Olivia needs to learn to lighten up and have fun.

I think we should go visit the neighborhood while Olivia and Oscar play in the white stuff. Maybe Jackie will save Olivia from Oscar. I just hope he doesn’t start picking on her, too. πŸ™‚
