This mural was done in the Vincenty of the Mural I presented a week or two ago under the challenge heading of ‘hands‘. The message was worthy of passing along as was the art work, even though a bit primitive.

These murals are located on the South side of Richmond, in an older, more run down part of town. As with all cities, some areas are better than others.
A dog and cat in clothing. Puns. Travel. Bacon. Not necessarily in that order.

I love the murals, too. I really need to go to Richmond on a few occasions and scout out some more street art. I went up there today, with that intent in mind, and couldn’t get past the fine architecture until my camera began misbehaving. I’m sure it would help if I knew what I was doing. LOL. I don’t claim to be a photographer, by any means. 😉

PS: I’ve gone back to my blogspot sweetie. I just don’t know what to blog about anymore and it’s of no use in having two blogs and just post the same thing on both of them. Thank you, Erin. I took a couple more today, painted on the side of a Latino Market I ran across, so will probably post those soon. I got some fabulous architectural detail shots, today, too. I hope to post a few of those photos shortly. Thank you so much for your visits. I hope to get out and about and visit everyone else soon. There’s so much to see and learn on the blog scene. I’ve probably passed that mural a time, or two, and never really paid attention to it, since it is on a side street. I saw it when I stopped to photograph the mural for the ‘hands’ challenge a couple of weeks ago. I turned around and this mural was right there staring at me. A very serious subject for a mural. I’m slightly amused that it says ‘Stop the Violence’ next to the Police Officer!

To be honest, Martin, the ways things are going these days, police officers and violence seem to go hand in hand. Although, our illegal President is talking about using armed drones, even here on American soil. I suspect before all is done, we will all be wondering who our real enemies are, and who are the peacemakers? I think drugs will be the least of our worries. So sad.

I can’t speak for the US situation but I feel that our police are often ‘piggy-in-the-middle’ and stuck with having to do what the government wants. At the moment they’re very upset with the government and are having to police anti government protests that they agree with as they are suffering the same government cuts as the protesters! To quote Gilbert & Sullivan… “A Policeman’s lot is not a happy one… happy one”.

Empty neat monochrome nicely painted walls on streets are so yesterday – a mural, a message, art of the streets is so much better, and I love this shot – effective way of getting a message out there.
