When you stop and think about it, people only 100 years ago had their work cut out for them if they were farmers. Even with modern day machinery, farming is not an easy job. No doubt your grandparents were extremely hard workers to be able to maintain the lifestyle farming demanded. Thank you for stopping by and adding to the conversation. 🙂

You are more than welcome for the condolences over you dear mother’s passing, and I appreciate your condolences as well. Death is a part of life, that we all must accept. I think after this life, we transform in some way, but I don’t think we really die. I feel my mother’s spirit often … perhaps because I believe that she is still with me. I hope you will have a wonderful week ahead of yourself as well. In the meantime, I hope to see you here or there on the blogs.

Tractors are the deal if you own a farm. I can’t even imagine tackling the job without one. 🙂 The guy who owns this tractor has a BIG farm, so you know he love his tractor. 🙂

Thank you, Rebekah. It was the ‘strangest’ vehicle I could find in my collection so far. Of course, it is not strange to those who work on farms. I’m sure the farmers today are thankful they are no longer forced to do their work via manual labor. Thanks for dropping by to take a peek. 🙂

I sure the farmer that has to maintain all of those field agrees 100%. That looks like quite a spread to have to plow and harvest by hand. I don’t know how our forefathers did it. 🙂

I can just feel the warmth of the sun beating down on me when I look at your wonderful photo! When we lived in the Blueberry House in Connecticut, there were quite a few farms nearby…one just down the road where we bought bags of corn…200 ears for $8. 🙂

Wow, and I though 8 ears of corn for $2.00 was a bargain. I guess living next to a big farm really is an asset. This is a road-side shot, so I don’t know who owned this farm … I just liked the way the crops cut the pattern in the field and of course the tractor is so symbolic of America, I had to answer the door of opportunity while I could. I think that is tobacco. This is a roadside shot, Madhu. Sometimes I see a landscape, or road-scape, whatever, and attempt to capture the moment on a whim. So I don’t have a clue who owns that farm. :)In this case, I just liked the way the fields were laid out, and thought the tractor was cool … so, snap,snap.

No, I just love farms in general. The farm I so often show shots of is not my farm either. I boarded Magi on it for 4 or 5 years. Lucky me! 🙂

Thank you. Virginia is full of farms, and some very impressive and useful farm equipment. I imagine an air conditioned cab to sit in while plowing the fields these days, beats the daylights out of standing behind a mule from sunup to sundown.
