Weekly Photo Challenge . Today . June 3, 2012

Meet Caleb, my youngest grandchild to date. I watched him for his Mommy today, while she went to the grocery store. We decided to play outside while she was gone.  Caleb is 14 months old, now.

Little boys and sandboxes fit like a hand in a glove. 🙂

Hmmm, I wonder if the motor works?

“Wanna eat some sand with me?”

    • Caleb is just now learning about sand. You know things, like don’t eat it, don’t get it in your eyes, and don’t throw it outside of the sandbox. Other than that, he’s loving the way you can move a little here and there and mold it to suit your needs. I’m sure this is only the beginning of some happy sandbox days ahead! Thanks for checking him out. 😉

    • Ah, the name … we tossed that one around for awhile, but Caleb was a name the whole family agreed with, so Caleb it is. Thanks for the kudos, Francine and for the visit. 🙂

    • Thanks Gilly. I do squeeze him a lot. He’s sweet when he’s sweet and a little terror when he’s not. Thankfully 90% of the time, he’s a sweetheart.

  1. I love that age–that’s right when they learn how to give things to other people.
Last week I was playing with a 14-month old at a restaurant. I gave him the lemon for my fish and he kept offering it back to me…. it’s nice to think that generosity and empathy are inherent in (most) people from a very young age!

    • I love the innocence of small children. They are so pure. Ah, to keep that innocence alive throughout the years. I guess the realities of society and the demands of adulthood take away the wonder of childhood and sometimes leaves us calloused. But it is nice to hang out with the younger crowd as a reminder of simpler times. Like you, I really enjoy interacting with babies and watching their reactions to things that have become trite with time. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. 🙂

    • I think that last shot is my favorite one, too. Caleb is always handing me something and jabbering away the entire time. He has his own little language these days. I don’t understand a word he says, but he sure is intent when he says it. LOL. Thanks for the kudos and the visit. Madhu. You know I am loving showing my little critter off to the rest of the world!

    • Caleb is my little buddy, Patti. We had a good time while Mom was away. We walked around and around and around the yard for about 45 minutes. We played in the sandbox and swung on the swing. I think Caleb is going to be an outdoorsy kid. He did not want to come back inside. I’m glad you stopped by to check him out. 🙂

    • Karen, you just made my YEAR! I wish I were in my 20’s again and know what I know now. Wow! I think it has been 20 years since I’ve had someone think I was still in my 20’s. I am so flattered.

Thank you for the kudos on my littlest Grandson. He and I do have fun together. He cracks me up sometimes with the innocent little things he does. Of course he has his moments, too, so it’s not all all sunshine and roses all of the time.

By all means, check out my blog … it’s a mix-match of whatever comes to mind on any given day, even though it was really set up to introduce my orples books. On occasion, the orples do get the spotlight, but not often enough so that anybody really knows what’s going on, I don’t think. Such is life. You kinda gotta take it as it comes. 😉 Thanks for stopping by today. Come again soon, please! 🙂

    • The first year or so, goes by so quickly, then suddenly, they aren’t babies anymore. Gotta treasure the time while we can. That sweet innocence passes so quickly … right into the terrible twos. 😉 . I can’t wait! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

    • Thank you, Musmy. Usually, Caleb is as sweet as he is cute … but he does have his moments. He’s a little firecracker on occasion. 😉 Hugs back at you.
