Ice cream anyone? “Wow, Gram, this is yummmieee! Ummm, Chocolate Chip mint! My favorite!” I just wished I’d known we were going to take pictures, I’d have put on some make-up and dressed a little nicer. Oh well, why hide the truth? Casual is my favorite way to dress, especially at home. Opal (Jacob’s Mom) came by to pick him up and we snapped off this shot. Being her first child, Opal was hesitant to feed the baby little treats. But not me, I was always giving him little tastes of ‘something new’. Obviously, the ice cream was a pleasant surprise for him.
And as you can see, not much as changed. You know what they say… “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream”.
There’s nothing like indulging in ice cream on a hot summer day at Maymont Park. So we did!

He looks really happy! Did Jacob ever eat anything else but ice cream after that?
I know I used to be a sugarholic kid!
I used to fix him little ‘baggies’ of goodies when he got older, filled with broccoli florets, blueberries, cherrioes, raisins, and such. I could never get him to sit still long enough to actually eat a meal.
sounds smart!
The only person that could get me to eat was my grandma, I really don’t know how she did it, some people are just good with kids I guess
Now that Jacob is ten, the trick is to get him to stop eating. He loves just about anything these days (especially chocolate chip mint ice cream).
can’t blame him on this one
hehe
awww…what a sweetie!!!! great depiction of this week’s theme! (it’s is a tough one, imo!)
As long as there is food to be had, I’m sure indulgence will be an easy puzzle to solve. I’ve gained 20 pounds since Friday
just looking at the pictures being posted. Thanks for dropping in and sharing your thoughts.
I haven’t had ice cream in quite awhile, now I’m wanting some, lol.
Ice cream is a favorite around here. It’s too bad it has doubled in price, and the size of the container has been cut in half, since the days I first introduced Jacob to the delights of its creamy smooth taste.
Chocolate chip mint is never a bad idea. It’s also my favorite.
All of the flavors are my favorites! I am an equal opportunity ice cream eater.
I love Ice cream, real “ice-cream shoppe” Ice cream… A great indulgence.
I know. Too bad it lands so hard, huh?
looks as though he is used to ice cream indulgences.. lol..:) Lovely captures..
Takes after his Grandma. I can’t keep my face out of ice cream in the summertime. Can’t wait! Thanks for dropping by, Gerry … always a pleasure to have you visit.
What sweet pictures … so appropriate for ‘indulge’
I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like ice cream..
Thank you & Me either. What a treat!
Nothing better than seeing a kid with their ice cream
Some of us kids never out grow our love for ice cream, don’t ya know?
waiting for summer to try ice cream

Why wait, Amar. It’s good anytime of year. I’m almost ready to run out and nab some tonight. Yum. Thanks for stopping in for a visit.
Very cute. I like mint chip in the summer with that coolness.

LOL, or cherry vanilla, chocolate chip cookie dough, butter pecan, …….
Thanks for stopping in to say hello, Anne.
and on down the line. Any flavor works for me.
>Oh well, why hide the truth?
- Absolutely! Because goodness that comes from the heart shines far brighter than any external embellishment ever could.
>But not me, I was always giving him little tastes of ‘something new’.
- Grandparents are the best! Rules shmules.
Except for this cardinal one: Rules are for parents to make and grandparents to break.
Kate
Hi Kate, Welcome!
Yes, I do so love being Grandma. It beats being Mom hands down. Spoil ‘um, smack ‘um on the bottom, and send ‘um home to Mom and Dad. I love it!
Thanks for dropping in.
Cute! Who doesn’t enjoy a great refreshing lick of ice cream?!
I don’t know anybody who can resist the temptation.
Ah, the joy of family time!
The joy of ice cream!
We do have a good time together.
Casual is my ideal dress these days. After years of wearing the corporate suit, as soon as I retired I went into baggy tee shirts and track suit bottoms. Now where’s the ice-cream….
I tend to go for the baggies myself. Life is too short not to be comfortable.
Not to mention, the baggies hide the results of all of that yummy ice cream!
Ah, the simple pleasures of ice cream.
I know, right? Thanks for stopping in for a visit this morning.
